Even the sauces are great! Food was delicious, healthy, and tasty! The guacamole tasted homemade. And the chips! We had the spicy shrimp quesadilla, pulled pork taco, chicken taco, and steak taco. All delish!

Many eateries say the use fresh ingredients, but you know it's true the minute you walk into this small taco shop. Everything they use is on display and is prepared in the prep area at the front of the restaurant. The guacamole was awesome, and The fish tacos are not to be missed !

Adora, the owner of taco grill is wonderful. Her food is wonderful. Today i had the pork tacos, tender, juicy, and full of flavor from the marinade. Normally, service is great, not today. Walked in the door and waited several minutes until i had to yell hello to the back of the house before anyone greeted me. Requested hot sauce and the 'manager'(?) literally snapped at me "all our sauces are hot." Sorry, Adora, but I do not deserve to be treated that way. Plenty of lunch options on the neighborhood.

Great chicken quesadillas!! I will be back for more. Nice place by the beach not to big and not a huge wait for lunch.

Great little taco spot! I've never had "authentic" tacos from the streets of Mexico but I imagine if I did, they would be exactly like this. As soon as you walk in, you can see all of the fresh ingredients they use. I decided to pick something from the board of specialty items. I got the combo tacos, 1 pork, 1 chicken 1 steak. All three were fantastic! If I had to rate them , I would say the steak was the best, followed by the pork, then chicken. The steak was extremely flavorful and tender! The people working there couldn't be nicer. Service was great. Can't wait to go back!

  • Lady D.

The food was very good, but a little pricey. We had the steak tacos, beans and rice, salsa and chips. The owner and cook was very friendly.

Ok, I am from California and Arizona and I have been on a mission to find authentic Mexican tacos that remind me of home!! Today I found that place in Taco Grill. I had been wanting to come here for a few weeks and finally made it. I read the owners write up of where she was from and why she decided to open her business. I was so excited and could not wait. I got there and ordered the pulled pork and carne asada (steak) tacos. Heaven let me tell you!!! I will definitely be back. I also plan to get my tacos to go on my way to Funky Buddha!!

We went there on a Groupon for lunch .The place was empty except for one guy behind the counter. We sa outside waitng for our food as the inside is sort of dreary and smelled a little of the cooking grease. One taco combo, 2 lemonaids,1 order of chip s a black bean soup , and a grilled cheese. This came to to over 40.00 with tax and tip.The soup was watery and tasteless, the grill cheese excellent and the tacos nothing special.I would much rather prefer Zona Fresca,Big enchilada, or Tequila Sunrise than this place.

  • Mamie B.

Yum yum yum! So good! I got the combo with one chicken, one steak, and one pork. I can't pick a favorite because they are all SO GOOD! Don't miss out on this place!

My boyfriend and I stopped last night for delish gourmet tacos. First, I watched them make my delicious chips and guacamole. Then I devoured my shrimp tacos while my bf feasted on mahi tacos watched down with organic tea. Awesome! I'll be back soon. Great little area of town to see music and hang out on the beach too.

  • Amanda R.

Walked in, first you see the fresh ingredients, very friendly owner and staff. She recommended the mahi mahi fish tacos. They were cooked made to order on the grill. Probably the best fish tacos ever had. With home made sauce and gauc! Definitely will go back!

This place IS most excellent! The staff and the owner (Adora) are all very nice and the food is terrific too (my favorites are the Fish Tacos and Pork Burritos!) It's one of those small, local-neighborhood gems that is a great find! Highly recommend it to all the locals here in the SFL!

I absolutely love this place. I have brought nearly every friend and visitor there. The quality is amazing, fresh ingredients right in front of you. The food style is simple and delicious really lets the good shove and it's not caked in sour creams and cheeses. Everything is right. The cook is a hard working guy and makes a meals taste amazing. The servers are friendly. The owner is amazing. It's a great environment to be in. Try everything in the menu.

Food was awesome tacos are great the chef was a cool guy too! The place could use a little work as far as the ambiance but the food is on point especially if your a fellow Floridian taco connoisseur I'd definitely check it out the prices are good and there's an awesome $15 for $30 yelp deal !

So it's Tuesday, feeling like Tacos and beer. I heard about this place so fire up the bike and off I go. Walk in and I was early, only one so far, everyone jumps up and welcomes me. The hostess points out all the specials on the board, and I get the "Surf & Turf" Tacos. I ask if they have beer and she says no, but they do next door and she will be more than happy to to bring my food over when ready! I had not even paid and the chef had my dinner cooking. Off I go next door (which is another story/review) for my beer, my tacos arrive and they are awesome. The bartender, Rochelle (awesome lady who backpacked thru SE Asia by herself) brought over all the sauce and fixings, the bar and Taco Grill work together well. My food was spectacular, cooked to perfection and just the right amount of food instead of some huge proportion you can't finish. Am I going back, you bet, every Tuesday for tacos and I'll bet the hits will just keep coming! By the way, Chef came by after my dinner was done to make sure all was to my liking!

Michael Bacon four point reviewing scale: Good - great quality ingredients and very authentic feeling. 1/1 star Cheap - good prices and great deals if you take advantage of the groupon. 1 star. Fast -no complaints. 1 star A lot- servings are kind of small, large folks should order multiple plates. 0/1 here. Bonus star for stocking Mexican coke for a respectable 4 stars. Very nice!

Wow, best chips and salsa we ever had. Delicious sauces. I had the fish tacos. Yum, some of the best I ever had. My husband had the short ribs tacos. They were so good he was forced to share with me lol. Filling too! Both the owner and chef were very personable. And it is Cinco de Mayo today so they are gifting free beer and chips and salsa! Score!

  • Danielle D.

Pros: everything cooked fresh, and they don't skimp on the fillings. Cons: 24 hour bloating from the food. We got the tacos, a quesadilla and an order of chips.

We hit this place on an off night....the oven and microwave were broken. I had a living social voucher that the cashier didn't know how to validate. Luckily the manager stopped in and assisted her. I ordered nachos, steak tacos, and pork tacos. Since the oven was broken the shredded cheese wasn't melted in the nachos. They asked if we wanted something else and they would throw nachos away. We decided to eat nachos and asked for free chips, Guac and salsa. They fry the chips fresh and salt them. A side of Guac and chips usually cost $6 and salsa is $4 or $5. Salsa is fresh and tasty and so was Guac. Overall the tacos were tasty but for $10-13 with no sides and no table service seems VERY expensive. You need to pay the coin parking meter for$ .50 hour. Staff didn't seem well trained. There are a few tables outside and about five tables inside. Nothing exciting about decor. Not sure how long this place will last since the pricing is so high. They seem to get a lot of business from the bar next door. You have to go next door to get free tap water. I will not be returning when there are better priced places in ft Lauderdale to eat at .

Today is my second time here... The food here is great. Flavorful, fresh, awesome. Try the steak and shrimp! The same thing that bothered me last time I was here bothers me again and makes me uncomfortable enough not to come back. The guy behind the counter... Cook, I believe... Is super awkward and not very friendly. Always seems to be in a bad mood (at this very moment he is complaining to the lady as he's cooking). The chalkboard says "add rice and beans $1.50" so I added rice and beans to my order... For one order of tacos (3), guac and chips and rice and beans, total came to $25. Doesn't seem to make sense so when I looked at the receipt, I was charged $5 for rice and beans. When I asked the question, the lady behind the counter today asked the guy and they spoke about it in front of me, both seemed a bit confused and the guy awkwardly avoiding eye contact. Finally she comes back and says "the $1.50 is the lunch special" and promptly erases the writing on the chalkboard which has been there since I was here about 2 weeks ago. To which I pick up the menu and under "lunch specials" it clearly states "rice and beans $5." When I was here last, I was here for dinner and was able to add rice and beans for $1.50. Kinda confusing and definitely awkward customer interaction. The lady was trying but said she only works on the weekends... She seems to be walking on eggshells because the cook is in a bad mood. Could care less about the money (turns out tonight they gave a larger portion size than the $1.50 I got last time) but WOW what an awful and uncomfortable atmosphere to walk into. Considering this place is an open kitchen and he can't hide in the back like in a traditional restaurant, this guy needs to get it together or he's gonna scare everyone away with his nasty 'tude.

Best hole in the wall around! We tried the skirt steak, chicken, & the fish tacos. Chicken was good. Skirt steak and Mahi were top notch! He also made the salsa and guacamole fresh. We couldn't get enough of both! Fresh ingredients, cooked right in front of you, friendly service from the owner/chef himself. If we lived here, we'd be back regularly.

The tacos here are amazing!! These are done in the traditional soft taco Mexican style. What isn't traditional is that the flavor of the meats are flavorful, unique and incredible. The hot sauce is HOT while still retaining the tastes of each pepper, just how I like it. I love these tacos!! Finally a south Florida restaurant that not only rivals but beats LA tacos!

  • Ani L.

This place is a hole in the wall with delicious freshly made and authentic Mexican food. The chef plays the roles of chef, waiter and cashier, but the service was great. I highly recommend the taco sauce and the chips and guac. Everything, right down to the tortillas, is homemade. It's a nice spot to dine outdoors at night. The prices are a little higher than some other places, but I feel that the prices are worth the value because everything is homemade and at the peak of freshness. I will definitely go back.

Found this great new place in the mall behind Walgreen s on A1A. I'm a big taco fan and admittedly have tried every taco place in town. The tacos here seemed really fresh. My girlfriend got some veggie soup that she really liked and I got the fish tacos with chips and salsa. Best thing is that they are open late, past midnight on the weekends.

Amazing food. The owner was so polite, visiting miami from texas it was nice to finally see someone who loved what they did and was nice. This place had the best steak tacos I've ever had, they were loaded with moist steak unlike some taqeritas the steak will be dry. And the spicy shrimp tacos, were delicious and very flavorful. We tried all the different sauces.

Groupon had a special coupon for an additional 25% off on a varied restaurants and looking for the best deal I saw they were offering one for $6.50 for $20 of food for the Taco Grill which had a few write-ups talking about how these were foods you would get on the streets of Mexico so, liking Mexican food, I got the groupon. Taco Grill is situated in a small shopping 'village' that I had been to before. It was situated in one storefront with a few tables outside, 2 insides and sitting on two walls. As you enter you order at the counter with all the ingredients fresh and in site with the cook taking your order and making the food. Allen ordered the 3 pulled pork tacos ($8) served with cilantro, onions and hot sauce on warm tortillas while I had the cheese quesadilla with steak ($12) and served with sour cream and avocado. We each had a bottle of diet coke ($1.50) so the check, with tax, came to $24.20. The cook/cashier served us the food at an indoor table. Basically it cost us $5.25 for a light tasty lunch which is a good price but without the groupon it would have cost $12.10 whereas we could have gone to one of the many new Mexican franchises using all fresh ingredients for a much larger meal. The gentleman who did all the work and interacting with the customers, though he did point out the owner who seemed to ignore everyone--which is not a way to build a new business--represented the Taco Grill in a very positive manner. Would I go back? Probably not as there are too many other choices in the area plus some better full service Mexican restaurants more convenient in my neighborhood. Slideshow youtu.be/xXWCYbdG4Qc

Simple and oh so tasty! Come here for the food, not the ambiance. We got their fish tacos, black beans and the steak quesadilla - all were very flavorful. Definitely worth going back for. Ooh and their homemade hot sauces are out of this world delicious. It about time we got a solid Mexican spot in this area even if it is a hole in the wall....We are looking forward to trying some of their other selections with or without a yelp deal! Enjoy!

I've already left my review for the incredible TACO GRILL earlier on Yelp... but I was just there and tried the "El Burro" chicken burrito and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! Absolutely killler, please keep this on the menu permanently! TACO GRILL RULES, if you are in Fort Lauderdale you better stop by and be hungry when you show up. You will be treated to the BEST tacos, quesadillas, and burritos of ALL TIME! These guys know what they are doing, and they do it better than anyone!!!

  • ErinMia M.

I had never heard of a "Mexican Street Taco" before, so I was eager to try one. My first was the marinated skirt steak taco and wow! what a far cry from anything I've ever had before! Soft warm little tortillas wrapped around tender and juicy steak with fresh cilantro and lime. Heaven. On the side was a fresh black bean corn salsa that I asked for seconds on and there were five or six different hot sauces to try. The one with tamarind stayed with me and couldn't get that taste out of my head, so I came back to try some more. Next were pulled pork. Again, tender and juicy with flavors that make you smile wide and order yet another. Drunken chicken, short rib, and "The Gringo", all interesting, fresh, and packed with flavor. Best $10. I've spent all year. Definitely coming back for more....and more.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.
